Note: Need to make sure I-Phone firmware is updated. (Firmware 2.0 or Higher) . “Earlier Firmware does not support Exchange Active Sync.”
Follow the below steps to configure Microsft Exchange Active Sync on I-Phone
Select SETTINGS, From the main iPhone screen,
Select “Mail, Contacts, Calendars” from the next screen.
Next, select “ADD ACCOUNT…” Choose “MICROSOFT EXCHANGE ”.
Fill in the appropriate information for “Email”, “Username”, and “Password”. The “Description” field is optional.
Note: The “Username” field should be entered in the form of Domain\Username.
After feeding the correct information , click Next..
The iPhone will now attempt to verify the Exchange account information.
You may choose to turn SSL ON or OFF here. After it has successfully verified the Exchange account information, click on the “Next” button.
Note: The Server name here should match that on the SSL certificate (if SSL is being used).
Choose which items you want to synchronize(Mail, Contacts, Calendar) by turning them On or Off and then click on the “Save” button.
You may also configure additional options and then click on the “Settings” button when you are finished.
You can also choose whether or not the iPhone accepts e-mail “Pushed” from the Exchange Server from the Settings page by clicking “Fetch New Data”
Note: (Applies to Exchange Server 2003 SP2 or later or Exchange Server 2007)
If your Exchange Server does not support “Pushing” mail to mobile devices, you can choose the frequency with which the device polls for and “Fetches” new information from the Exchange Server.
When using a “self-signed” certificate like the one generated by the SBS Configure E-mail and Internet Connection Wizard (CEICW), you will receive a prompt. Clicking Accept will allow mail to be downloaded using SSL and you should not receive a prompt for the certificate again.
